All Alone, Steven’s 9th CD is in production and will soon be released to worldwide radio and publicity! A product of 2+ years of hard work by Steven and his veteran band has resulted in 13 fully realized original tracks ready to take on the challenge of creating a brighter future while taking the listener on a storytelling journey of love, self-realization, and rock and roll. True to his musical vision and style, Steven’s new CD is his most personal at many levels but always universal. With a smoking horn section, tight harmonies, tasty guitars and a rock solid rhythm section, Steven layers in insightful and engaging lyrics, commentary for the times as many of us struggle to find ourselves in the midst of changing circumstances.
Lonely Night starts the CD. An upbeat song with a powerful message of surrendering and also the longing for love and security to “help me make it through the lonely night”. Love Conquers Fear. A highlight song on the CD reaching ever higher and knowing that even in the darkest times, “love conquers fear”. Fire. Written by Steven during the intense California fires the song is solid in the jam band genre with its upbeat message of “fire burn the darkness away.”
Angel Came From Heaven. A nice change up on the CD, a reggae rocker love song, one of the favorite live styles of the Steven Graves Band. Rita. In the classic style of Los Lobos or the pop rock classics of the early 80’s Rita’s vocal and instrumental hooks will reel you in and hold you in its grasp. You’re the One. Arguably the cross over hit on the CD, this song is beautifully crafted celebrating all of the people and things in our lives that are there for us when we need them. So Far Away. A Pink Floyd like haunting ballad, Steven wrote after the loss of his mother in 2020 and has dedicated this song and the CD to her memory. All Alone. Steven’s vocal and amazing horn section carry this classic R&B rocker; the CD’s title track. Always Here. In the tradition of Otis Redding and the blues/soul singers of the late sixties, this horn driven jazzy song features some great singing and ripping band moments. I Can Be Free. A Bob Dylan like rocker lots of great guitars and jams with Steven’s powerful singing about the struggle to be free from mostly self-imposed limitations. Rise Together. In the tradition of Mavis Staples or Marvin Gaye this song inspires us all to rise above all the challenges that we face and to come together in order to create a more loving and sustainable world. Sitting Bull. Another Native American oriented song, powerfully aimed at the desire to reconcile the pains and tears of the past so that it may “lead us to love”. Good People. The record’s grand finale, a conscious party tune, celebrating all that is good in the world and reminding us that there are “good people all around this world”.
